About UsThe life of an OT student can be somewhat challenging, when it comes to meeting new friends in freshers week or chatting to people in bars or clubs, in taxis, supermarkets or just in the street, the inevitable question of 'what do you study?' is bound to come up. Its at this point where we normally make one of three decisions; we lie and say 'oh i'm studying nursing', or we grit our teeth and hope they don't question us when we tell them, or we take the latter approach and go into a deep and meaningful conversation about how the person at the bar is achieving occupational balance as drinking is clearly a meaningful occupation to them and then refer them to Doris Pierce book on Occupational Science for further reading. Ok so that might have been a slight exaggeration but we have all been in the situation where we have had the opportunity to explain what we do to someone who doesn't know.
The aim of this blog is not only for us to rant and rave about how hard modules and dissertation are, but to also use this platform to promote the journey of two OT students, but more importantly to promote WHAT OT ACTUALLY IS! We will make it our commitment to post as regularly as we can about what is happening in our personal OT worlds. |
